The flame line shows the Lewis Glacier's location in 1947 along the edge of what was then a glacier melt-pond. In 1947 the level of the pond was much higher and the back of the pond was a tall cliff of the glacier's
icefront
. The glacier has since receded about 120m.

The film that was made of this project by my friend Antonio Olmos was shown widely; at Fotonoviembre in Tenerife, at Lianzhou Photo Festival in Guangdong, at Houston Fotofest 2016 and most recently at the Angkor Wat Photo Festival in Cambodia.
